Today I want to talk to you about the power of connection.
Connection and community. So much or the pain in this world can be attributed to isolation. When we feel connected to others, to our hobbies, our families, our jobs our spirituality, our team, our humanity we feel comforted, more at peace and more aligned. This is particularly when we feel connected to our higher selfs. When we sleep we ‘go home’ we are connected to our soul. When we meditate or think on our higher self and our connection to source energy, what some call god, we feel connected. When we don’t sleep, for example we go into a zombie like state. We aren’t just tired, we are disconnected from our higher selfs, from source. Zombies are in essense bodies without souls. So when we feel disconnected from source, from our souls, from each other, we in essense feel disconnected to our higher selves. We feel isolated. It is when we feel isolated that we feel depressed, anxious. When we feel isolated we tend to think selfishly, which further perpetuates our isolation.
The andadote for depression and anxiety and many of the other psycho-social issues which affect humanity is connection and community. As we foster and support each other to build community, we are creating connections between humans that bring us to life, to connect us with our souls and the souls of others. It almost doesn’t matter what the purpose of the connection or community is. Humans just have a deep need to belong to a group, a cause, a purpose bigger than themselves. Those that foster community and connection are the hero’s of our time.
